The Global Ecovillage Network-Africa (GEN- Africa) wishes to invite you to its upcoming Conference at Pax Herbal Clinic & Research Laboratories, located at Benedictine Monastery, Edo State, Nigeria, from December 11 – 16, 2017. GEN Africa in partnership with GEN International and PAXHERBALS is organizing this year’s conference to achieve the following objectives:
- GEN Africa representatives and advisors meet in Ewu, Edo State, Nigeria for 5 full days
- Strengthen GEN Africa, review the targets/action plans for 2017 and plan next steps
- Re-examine how we function as a council and as a GEN Africa Region
- Consolidate functional partnerships (Paxherbals, Sekem etc.)
- Participants certified for Ecovillage Taster and Introduction sessions
- Updated PAEDP document
- The Pan African Ecovillage Development Programme (PAEDP) was Launched at COP22, Marrakesh (we have thus far secured MOUs and operational agreements with 22 governments, and with scores of NGOs, and community partners, ready for programme implementation).
- Action plans for implementation of PAEDP in 7 African countries leading to project applications and meetings with local governments in Nigeria.
- Courtesy visit to the governor of Edo State to present GEN ideas and projects
- Networking and sharing within the Region (presentations on activities)
As a Council member/supporter/staff/friend of GEN Africa and representative of an Ecovillage or National Network, it would be such a joy to have you at this conference. We will be happy to hear the great work you are doing in your Country and to share the best practices with the rest of the Continent.
