Bolanle Alabede was born and raised in Nigeria, in the city of Lagos where she went to primary school and old Oyo state for secondary school. She studied Journalism at The Times Training Institute 1985-1987, Public Relations /Advertising, Lagos State University 2003-2007 and Masters in Social Work,  Lagos State University, 2016.

Her Journalism career started at The Reporter Newspaper, Kaduna, as a Reporter /Researcher in Lagos 1987-1989, she worked briefly at The Punch Newspaper 1989 Education beat, CreditNews Magazine, Senior Staff Writer, banks and financial sector 1989-1991. She later worked as The Editor Herbal Plus magazine 2004-2006. She received an award in 2005 from the Lagos state Traditional Medicine Board for her efforts at promoting the development of the herbal sector in Nigeria. She moved to Pax Herbal Clinic Research and Laboratory in 2006 as Associate Editor/ Advert Manager for The Herbal Doctor Magazine. She was later appointed as Corporate Affairs Manager and Public relations executive for Paxherbals as well as the Lagos hospital coordinator. In 2015, she was appointed a senior researcher at the African Center for Integral Research and Development, a subsidiary of Paxherbals.

Alabede is a member of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations and a fellow of the Health Writers Association of Nigeria (HEWAN). She is a licensed member of the Association of Medical Social Workers of Nigeria . Her core area of research interest is in Media Relations, Corporate/ Government Relations, Events Management and Reputation Management, Medical Social Work counselling, Case Management and Advocacy in Social Work.
